Giant Robot Battle: Japan VS America Mech Fight

About two years ago, we featured the most thrilling news tech geeks around the globe were stoked about – it’s none other than the realization of life size mech warriors called ‘Kuratas’.

The Japanese made Kuratas was the first ride-able mobile suit that ever surfaced the earth. It is a user-controlled robot loaded with weapons and bunch of other cool stuffs in it.

Interestingly, an exciting new development to this story emerged on the Internet furthermore stirring up cyberpunks and tech geeks alike.

To mech fans’ delight, the inventors of Megabot (an American made giant robot) challenged Suidobashi Heavy Industry to a giant robot battle. Without hesitation, Suidobashi CEO Kogoro Kurata accepted the challenge and welcomed the idea of an international giant robot fight.

Suidobashi Heavy Industry Accepted the Challenge

One year from now, as the two parties agreed, the first giant robot battle will be happening.

The question is: Are they going to live up to the expectations?

Experts are saying that fans shouldn’t expect to see a Hollywood type of fight given today’s technology and the lack of budget. The battle, as experts say, wouldn’t even last a minute because robots of this age are very complex that one single alteration or damage on its system can easily make it inoperable.

Personally, I don’t care if the actual fight is going to be boring or not. Just the fact that two giant robots are going in to an arena to fight is an idea fascinating enough for me.

So yeah, maybe it would help if we don’t expect too much from it. It’s just the first anyway, but who knows?
