As an art enthusiast, I find myself fascinated with the most intricate and sometimes the simplest of designs. One day, as I was taking my daily dose of design inspirations, I stumbled upon something that caught my attention. Upon seeing the designer’s name, it reminds me; I read the name few months earlier from Jeff Finley’s book, ‘Threads Not Dead’. To my surprise, the design I viewed is actually a brainchild of a fellow Filipino. This precious piece of info turns more fascinating as I dug deeper. This Filipino designer is actually behind some of the graphic designs of well-known brands. If this gets you curious then don’t switch-off just yet.
The Filipino designer behind some of the graphics of Nike, Adidas, Vans, Zoo York and etc. is none other than AJ Dimarucot. He is a graphic designer and an entrepreneur from Manila.
AJ was able to build his reputation in the crowd-sourced t-shirt design community for having his works printed several times at some of the popular design contest sites. Back in 2008 he earned $10,000 in DesignbyHumans.com for winning a t-shirt design contest. Today, AJ is one of the respected artists in the t-shirt design circle; and has been privileged to work for big fish clients like Nike, Vans, and many more.

Do you now any other Filipino artist who made a break in the international design scene? Mind sharing them?
